Hey when fitting a 25mm mdpe to 22mm copper brass stop tap in a new house in the kitchen is it usual to fit it back to the wall so just so the spindle is showing through the back of the kitchen unit?

No, I'd bring it into the unit for future maintenance/inspection.

So putting it behind the units not a good idea, so maybe bring it up in the unit and clip to the back of it?

Then I'd have elbow it back so I can run it behind the units to take it up to the ceiling space to feed the rest of the house. Is that better then not having all the stop tap accessible?

Also allows you to easily get a pipe onto the drain cock that you will be fitting just above it too :P
