We had our boiler serviced about 6 months ago and the engineer set what I presume is the stat on the front of the boiler to 2 out of 5. He said it should never really need to go any higher than that.
Last night we realised the heating was not working. After further inspection we worked out that no matter how high you put the room thermostat the boiler would not kick to start the heating. We then tried putting the stat on the front of the boiler up to 5 and it would then work perfectly fine. As an experiment I kept lowring the stat on the front of the boiler down and then seeing if the central heating would kick in and it would work until you got down to 3 on the stat.
Just wondering if anyone has any ideas of what the problem might be?
