Poterton PTT2 cylinder thermostat

Hi,

My Cylinder thermostat is intermittently clicking on and off (rapidly), it stops if I adjust the temp' setting.

How can I prove whether the thermostat or the thermocouple is faulty - or is the above enough to prove that the thermostat is faulty as I suspect?

Yes. The hysteresis on a non-faulty cylinder stat is too much for it to operate in the rapid way that you describe.
