Yep, the old potteron again.

The Boiler is apparently is in the Suprima 30-80 range. Doesn't seem to indicate which of that range it is on any stickers. It is a wall mounted fan assisted balanced flue gas boiler.

For 5 years installed - no problems, not once - then over this christmas period - bewm - no more heating. British Gas *cringe* came by and muttered something about PCB burning out, and i would concur judging by the burnt smell .. thus they replaced it with a new replacement PCB Kit.

this was last week (week ending the 15th Jan). However, today without fail the thermostat lights up, but nothing brings the boiler alive. Checking the light on the box indicates that a continuous orange LED is lit - meaning *checks instructions* - Mains ON (no call for external heating) - which means what exactly? in Boilers for Dummies? I presume simply it means that the mains is working fine but since there is no light - the boiler is unable to fire or hasnt fired up for some reason.

What I know it does mean is that no heating has come on throughout the house, no hot water and another day without central heating, yet the setting for heating to come on seems to be indicating everything is fine. . Anyone any clue what might have happened?

look for a reset button maybe. check the book for it
