Hello all,
I am mega new to this site but sadly not toy potterton netaheat boiler...
Over the past few weeks we have become very close, today I fitted a new grundfos 15 50 circulation pump and it worked haveing taken me 4 hours to drain the system down and lhen getting rid of the air lock bit the problem I have now is, the boiler works for about an hour then turns it's self off and doesn't come back on again, I did find a lose wire and I thought that was it but no:-(

this ia going to sound mad but if I give the circut board thing a wobble, it starts up again for another hour, sorry if not enough info is given but I'm a woman and don't know what the bit in the boiler is called. I did have a plumber come out who told me I need a whole mew system but to be honest I think he saw me as a silly single woman..... Just show ya, I got it semi working but just need it to stay on by it's self, any help would be fantastic, thanks :-)

From a very cold.... Ppppppppaula

hey, are you sure the pump was broken??If so you could stillhave a air lock if its cutting out every hour, how big is your house?? the thing your tapping is the printed circuit board, it could be faulty relays could be sticking on it. Have you had the boiler repaired before? how old is it? and is it fan flued??

gareth..

I lived in this house for eight years and the boiler was in when I moved in so I would say well over 10 years old and maybe even more, so it's one OAP of a boiler. I have managed to keep it going all night by wobbling the turny thing with numbers in at the bottom of the boiler it self and I think that clicking noise is the boiler trying to flare up but it also makes that clicking noise when the boiler is working and had flare up, it just won't flare up when it gets hot..... I hope that makes sence and NO I don't think it was the pump so that's 80 quid down the drain but at least I have a new pump now.....

Thank you :-)

I have no idea what you mean by a fan flued, I has a pipe that goes outside and I don't know what a pcb board is, is it something I can buy and fix?

Thankyou

your probably better off getting a BG out to fix it sound like you need a part. there expensive for pot boilers espically when there that old.

Depending on model your boiler is probably about 24 years old and was included in the scrappage scheme.

They are getting to the end of the time when they can be easily repaired as some parts are no longer officially available.

I must agree with him that any woman who does not want a man to fix the boiler, cuddle up to at night, do manly things, shovel snow and drive the car must be very silly!
