Potterton boiler overheat keeps tripping

Hi All,

I have a Potterton Prima 50F boiler of which I've just replaced the fan and flue terminal (it was badly corroded). I have noticed over the last few months that the overheat protection keeps tripping. It probably happens once or twice a week.

Does anyone know what's wrong?

A DIYer should not be opening the combustion chamber or changing the fan.

The only advice is to get a gas reg person to check the safety of the boiler and see whay its overheating!

When you post here you are deemed to have read and to accept the forum rules.

One of them, for very good reasons, is that we are not allowed to give advice to DIYers on gas or combustion related matters.

Hence my advice to get a gas reg engineer to help you.
