Perhaps you have an early one but the MF PCB that I know is in a plastic box and quite sophisticated inside.
My personal experience of their repaired boards is limited to just one visit to their place. That was enough for me to not want to go there again. Chris R has had some experience of seeing cases where they have removed a safety part of the circuit. They dont have facilities to properly test all of the functions on modern boards.
CET is rather better than Adlink. At least Geoff there does understand electronics.
All of those repairers really cannot manage any real serious fault finding. Most repairs are limited to replacing electrolytics and resoldering some of the joints. If that does not get them going then they dump it.
