When the hot water comes on, either tap or central heating, the boiler is very noisy and continues till it is turned off. Im a bit of a novice where boilers are concerned so any help / advice would be appreciated. Its a Potterton Combi 80.

Potterton Combi 80 - noisy on start up.

If the noise stops i would say its the fan. you could try wd40 but this will only last for a while call potterton (08706 096 096) as will repair cost will include parts.
If it were air i would expect the noise to carry on during pump overrun.
