Potterton Mini Minder

I have a floor mounted free standing boiler with a Potterton mini minder programmer.
The progranmmer has 2 sliders and neon indicators.
The top neon is clicking on and off and the boiler is unable to fire up.
Would appreciate any ideas.

but I think you don't know if the fault is in the timer, the boiler, or the wiring.

Presumably it doesn't fire whatever you do with any of the sliders?

Do you hear any ticking or whirring from the boiler or pump?

When you turn the heat control up you can hear a noise, apart from that nothing, the boiler lockout light isnt illuminated.

Are you able to use a meter to safely test if there is power output from the timer, and reaching the boiler?

(p.s. I'm not saying it isn't the timer...)
