Anyone, everyone, Help !

This weekend the Centrica Fitter called as I could not get the Rads /Water very warm. He diagnosed that only part of the Burner Unit was firing up and I could have a blockage in the H joint. Can someone tell me whether what he said is realistic or not. Although I have a service contract he said the Burner is obsolete but if it is that could I get one from somewhere. I have read on the Net that to find a blockage all I need do is tap the pipe with a magnet and where it is blocked it will feel magnatised any views on that.

If I should need another Boiler any recommendations and would it be easy enough for me to fit and then get a Corgi Engineer to commission it. All views would be welcomed and appreciated

The can of worms has been opened prepare for a lambasting I'm afraid.
Use the search function on 10/16 and commissioning and the legal implications of fitting a boiler on your own.

Recommendation for getting a new boiler:
Find a good installer and accept his professional opinion.
Corgi technical bulletin 214 will tell you in detail how and why your plan is illegal and dangerous

Try http://www.gasbits.com
they list it for sale at £115

I recently got various spares for my engineer to fit on my 10-16 without an issue (gas valve, mercury switch) dispite being told that they were obsolete and needed a new boiler.
