I have a constant problem with the potterton pro max store: it trips frequently or overheats with error e110 when central heating is on. This has been happening for the last year or longer. It happens 1-2 times a week sometimes more often. Baxi guys were here 8 times with no success: they have changed pump, diverter valve, pcb, cleaned the boiler. The boiler is 4.5y old as is the central heating setup (new build). I was told to do power flush but was reluctant as pretty expensive. So drained system after cleaning with a cleaner. Refilled with inhibitor. I have bled the radiators prob 100 times as it could be air trapped. Don't really want to spend more money on boiler specialists or plumbers. Is it a boiler problem or a CH problem? I can't change the overheat thermostat myself this would prob be an option as well. Pls advise thx

So the engineers haven't changed or tested the overheat thermostat ?

A quick Google of the error code says that needs testing if you have that fault code

And if baxi themselves can't fix it I would be putting a complaint into them telling them to either send an engineer who knows what he's doing or replace the boiler

I'm amazed you still have patience with baxi after they failed to fix it 8 times! That's shocking!

Hi thermostat was tested (resistance etc and seems ok) but I am basically running out of options. The baxi guys came under the D&G boiler plan so basically called them every time the error occurred. After a while me and D&G decided there is no point for me to pay for the 12 month plan and I got my money back as they couldn't fix the boiler. I could have got a new boiler but only up to 750gbp well won't get much for this. Unfortunately the boiler had only a 2y warranty so can't go back to baxi. Within the 2 years the s... Boiler lost pressure constantly and was repaired as it leaked. I don't know I think it is a pile a junk or the guys who put it together were incompetent. So here I am: either buying a new boiler or keep trying to repair the junk box. Any suggestions? Would a power flush do sth? Cheers seb

I think we are having a very similar issue with our Potterton precision. Trips after seconds, sometimes it runs mostly it doesn't. Getting worried with the weather going colder by the day...
The repair options we were given by BG start at £109 and some up to £289, or monthly payments, but none would even guarantee they can repair it. Then called Potterton and they offer something similar with £31 monthly payments. But nothing seems promising. It's ridiculous that there's so few engineers that actually can pinpoint the issue, instead you get people replacing parts, hoping that it might fix the issue.
Sorry not very helpful :S I hope it gets sorted though

Potterton and Baxi are under the same umbrella. I’d start with looking at a possible valve shut off somewhere 1st and go from there.
