About a month ago there was a crackling noise when the pilot was being lit, along with the normal clicking/sparking. A few days ago the clicking/sparking stopped altogether and now there is just a low hum from the boiler unit. No hot water or CE now. I'm hoping it's one of the solenoids as I can probably replace that myself as am having trouble finding CE engineer that isn't snowed under atm.

Any advice would be appreciated.

If it is/could be a solenoid, does anyone know of any suppliers?

Thanks

It sounds to me as if the crackling was probably the ignition lead sparking to earth.

I suggest you check it over its length.

It could also be sparking across the ignition PCB.

Since these are safety devices, I would recommend that you get a CORGI engineer to fit replacement parts.
