Had an issue with my Potterton Promax 15 boiler the other day where it tripped the RCD after running continuously for approximately three hours. S-Plan system with zone valves all operating normally - I could see the valves recieving the command from controller and opening but then once opened the trip would occur. When I used the hot water zone valve only, the boiler would fire up fine it was just when commanding either upstairs or downstairs heat.

Switched off the system and the next day approximately 12 hours later all is working fine again. The boiler had not operated for approximately seven days and when it was on for three hours it was on high demand as the house was cold and the hot water tank was heating up. As it was a complete power shutdown no fault lights were displayed on the boiler.

Has anyone had similar symptoms on this boiler?

Thanks I have had a look and the hot water zone valve does have traces of water and after taking the cover off could see staining on the inside base. Strange if that was it as the hot water was switching on fine but the heating valves would trip when opened.

Probably coincidence, or when the valve closes and maybe then it leaks?
