Hi,

Woke up this morning to a leaking Potterton Puma 80 boiler. British Gas can't come round till tomorrow morning, turned the boiler off and leak stopped. Just went back to it and boiler is leaking again from front fascia.

Whilst I wait for BG to turn up is there anything i can do to stop water from getting into the boiler and thus leaking? or is it just a case of leaving buckets out for the drips?

Had a look on the forum and there seem to be various thoughts on what a leaking boiler could be - is it generally fixable or is it new boiler time?

Many thanks

Ring back bg tell em it is an uncontainable water leak i'm sure they will send somebody tonight

Thanks for the reply - gave em a call back. They can get someone out but it could be anywhere between now and 8am

So am gonna turn off stop cock when go to bed, can i ask. How bad is a leaking boiler, i'm a techy not a plumber so no idea on this sort of thing.

Thanks

Usually it's just something which needs a turn of a spanner. There is one puma leak which sometimes means a blown fuse, but no big deal at all. It's not like anything's going to pop out and flood the place.
It would be a rare puma that had no sign of having leaked somewhere!
