Hello,

I wonder if someone could give me some advice.

I have a potterton suprima 50. It worked perfectly well last winter, problem started last month after coming back from a three week holiday. The boiler fires up perfectly ok at night but does not work during the day. At night it seem to overheat and sometimes goes into lockout.

After a lot of resetting and reading a lot of bad reviews about Potterton, I finally got and Npower engineer to come and have a look. He said it was the central heating pump (Myson) at fault and it needs changing. They quoted 170£ for the job. I got one online for 45£ and changed it myself. But the problem still persists

Any help is much appreciated.

There's quite a common problem with Suprimas that causes them to go into lockout but we're not allowed to give advice on here regarding repairing boilers. If you get an engineer with some experience on these boilers he should know what needs replacing.
