This was a fairly new hybrid version.

It had a few questionable aspects and the usual leaking DHW gland.

On inspecting the combustion inner area I was sprayed with water! I found the the right connection to the HE had come apart because the spring clip had TWO possible positions and it was in the WRONG one.

I could not come to any conclusion but my expectation is that it left the factory in Italy like that ! Has anyone else seen that?

Although at first working OK it stopped after water was sprayed around and after some time I checked the previously working APS to find the NO contact was still CO when activated.

Nice friendly chinese restaurant who wanted to give me a meal but I declined because I was going to take Martha out to eat to celebrate. In the end I was too late!

How do you know it was in the wrong one if it had come apart. Another pointless statement from you. :?:

Cos he could see that it was in the wrong place, and that if it has been in the right place it wouldn't have come apart??

You know, like you can put a Puma HE connector together wrongly. Got a pic of one of those somewhere.

There's something odd about the APS on these. The boiler can work, or be only a bit intermittent, with horribly wrong resistances at the APS. The connections (black and brown, from memory) which should be closed before the boiler starts can be very high resistance. connecting an analogue voltmeter acrross the connections is enough to start the boiler!

I dont know why you seem to want to be so rude!

As Chris has pointed out the joint clearly was able to come apart because the clip was in the wrong position!

Its a very poor design where the clip can be fitted in either of two positions one of which is wrong!

I would also take the view that the interlock connections to the condensate trap are wrongly connected as supplied and should be reversed.

Although the APS was working part of the time on arrival after it had stopped working the NO contact resistance was over 2 Megohms and it stayed o/c.
