I have been given some PowerBreaker RCD sockets but was wondering if they are worth installing in my house? are they any good?
I have normal sockets in my home and an RCD in the consumer unit as standard.

Cheers

I have just installed one RCD socket in my house ready to supply the shed. Using 10ma RCD sockets although will not always stop faults from tripping main house RCD will reduce the chance. So if your sockets are 10ma then yes fit them.

But if the sockets are 30ma there is no point as far as protection from shock. However since most sockets are active having items like the grinder supplied from a RCD socket does make sense. Since if there is a power cut and the grinder was left on it would not auto start when power was restored.
