Powerflushing - a good idea/dangers?

Powerflushing IS effective if done properly using a good quality machine, chemicals and someone who knows what they're doing.
Its not always necessary however, and is often mis sold by cowboys and large companies who make alot of money from it.
Personally I almost always powerflush vented systems on new boiler installs, if the systems not to bad it can be only a few hours which could give the boiler more protection and keep the manufacturers happy. If you have an ineffective heating system, then some DIY can get you a long way.
