I have a Texecom Premier Elite 24 with Smartcom installed.

I am going to integrate this alarm to Home Assistant using the Crestron protocol, so I am about to install a Premier Elite Comport+ to give me a 3rd comm port and then install a ComIP - which I will use for the Crestron/Home Assisstant interface.

The ComIP instructions say to fully power off the alarm before installing, which I have never done before. I would like to do this without the sirens going off. I presumably need to disconnect the mains power and then the battery but I don't know how to stop the siren(s) from sounding. I understand the Texecom sirens have some kind of 'hold off' mode which can be enabled by doing something with the strobe 3 times, but I don't understand the detail.

Any advice would be appreciated.

@sparkymarka So if I do the following the alarm won't sound?

- Enter engineer code
- Open alarm panel lid
- Disconnect mains power from alarm panel
- Disconnect battery

I can then connect ComIP and then reattach battery and apply mains power.

Does that look correct?

Enter eng code
Open panel
Add com ip
Program com ip
Remove mains
Remove battery
Reconnect battery
Close lid
Turn mains back on

Then take it from there
