Hi all,

I have the above boiler which has just started playing up. The central heating will come on and heat the rads but I've no hot water with the taps running dry!!!

Anyone got any info that will prevent me getting ripped of (I haven't a clue about boilers)

Thanks guys

Paul

Just read another thread with a similar problem where the advice was to give the pump a 'little' knock and it worked, hot water now flowing.

Is this likely to happen again, would a boiler service pick the fault up?

Cheers

Paul

Why do you expect to be ripped off?

I charge a fixed diagnostic fee of £84 in the local area. Do you think thats ripping off?

Ok, perhaps ripped off was too harsh a term to use, but before typing the original post I had just read a post where a guy was told he needed a new boiler because the BG eng could not source a couple of o rings!!

The flow switches on these boilers are prone to failure as is the pump and are both easily replaced. Not many privateers will work on these boilers for several reasons. Baxi and BG will however do a repair for you. There are many parts which are no longer available, but common parts are plentiful.
