yes i do , if its say an mdf fire place these if smooth finished can be painted with oil based satinwood, gloss tends to look pretty tacky on a prefinished surface. either brush it or use a small foam glosser roller to eliminate brush lines ,remember to thoroughly clean the surface to be painted and sand with a very fine paper.
