Hi all,

I'm planning on installing thermal plasterboard on my internal walls to improve insulation.

The old undercoat/skim has all come away from the wall, so I'm left with a bare brink wall to fix the thermal plasterboard to.

The wall is sound. Do I need to prepare the wall before fixing the boards?

I'm going to use dot and dab, as well as mechanical fixings.

Thanks.

Just wet the wall with water or add a little pva to stabilize any dust.

We sometimes drag a garden hose in and 'mist' the wall with fine spray if the walls are dusty.
