Hello

Could someone kindly tell me how I prepare an already painted skimmed wall for a new coat of paint?

thanks

If it's already been mist coated, just brush the dust off & paint away; it may be beneficial to thin the first coat around 10% but after that you should be able to apply full coats.

Thanks for your reply.
The walls already have their full painted coats on, which was probably done a while ago.
Would I be advisable to give them a light rub down for a key and then apply 2 full coats?

thanks

It's nothing to do with key, but is is a good idea to give them a rub down as it takes off all those lumpy 'nibs' so you get a better finish.

Around 80 grit in my opinion.
