Hi,

I plan to outsource the plaster skim. I'll plasterboard the ceiling and the wall. I'll use TE board so it joint tape is hidden and it just needs a minimum skim. Normally I would dryline tape and joint but there is too much to do so having it plaster skimmed seems the quickest and the easiest to get done. I think it best to leave the taping to plasterer so there is no compatibility issues. I'll just fit the boards (screwed or dot and dab).

What about door openings? Should these have the timber frames and doors fitted? No architrave of course. Door could be removed of course too. Or should the door frame be fitted after? The stud opening is oversized, with packers to the frame. Plasterboard overhangs so will be cut back with a multitool to suit. I don't see a problem doing that either before it is skimmed or after.

What about socket openings? On solid wall just cover cables with plastic and tape, plus tape screw holes? On the stud walls remove plasterboard boxes and stuff the opening with plastic/paper?

What about ceilings? I think I'll have to have cables and openings in place (could/would remove inset boxes) so they'll just have to be worked around.

Thanks
