If we have a set flowrate of water
9 l/min is 9 l/min, be it blasting down an 8mm pipe at very high pressure or running through an open gutter... :p

I wasn't very clear when I said:
chuck it down a 22mm pipe (open end)

I meant of course allowing the water to flow from an open ended pipe.
