Hi, I'm thinking of putting a pressure reducing valve on my incoming mains mainly because it's spiking to over 6-7bar when taps are closed.

I need one that fits onto 22mm, but I noticed a few aren't full bore and restrict the flow quite a lot too. Now I know all reducing valves reduce flow and that's how they work but has anyone got any recommendations for mains flow?

Have you contacted the water company?
My local company asks people to report high pressure as I believe if it's on many houses or high enough to cause damage they will do something about it.

Yeah it’s 4bar. The spikes are causes by closing taps. Already got a hammer arrestor installed and it’s doing nothing.

I'd pay the money for a good quality PRV - the cheap ones always seem to cause problems. That and ensure it is drop tight, don't want creep if the standing pressure can reach over 6 bar.

Reliance or Arrow would be my choice.
