I fell for a roof cleaning scam where the cleaners used pressure washers on our concrete roof tiles. They left a fair amount of damage removing the moss but they have also stripped the tiles of any colour. We've had the damage repaired but the other major problem is that our house looked quite nice before with a dark roof that matched all the others around us. We now have a drab grey concrete looking roof. It looks horrendous.
Is there anything we can do? I see that this forum is really against painting roof tiles. I don't quite understand why because the new replacement tiles seem to be coated with something, presumably paint. From reading more it is because it is highly likely the paint will peel after a few years?
The neighbours acknowledge that it looks really ugly but suggest just waiting three years and it might start to gather moss again but that is a long time to be looking at something we really don't like. There is a reason people put effort into their houses, because they like to live somewhere that looks nice to themselves.
What are our options?
