Primer for MDF

I have a mdf bath panel to paint with a finish of oil based egg shell.

the MDF is currently bare.

Can I prime this with oil based dulux primer for wood?
for such a small job I really don't want to purchase a tin of mdf primer.

Yes you can use that. Needs thinning for a first coat then apply a coat of normal oil based undercoat before the eggshell. Sand well between coats.
