Primer For WBP Plywood - Zinsser Cover Stain ?

Jack,

Aluminium wood primer is one of the best primer blockers ever, it will seal and protect softwoods and hardwoods. When you apply this primer to your plywood take care to ensure that you flood the primer into the edges, this will ensure they are fully protected.

TheDec,

I bought some Aluminium Wood Primer from Toolstation which was £7.56 for a litre tin which I will use on the plywood. Toolstation sell branded paints from a manufacturer named "Flag" who seem to specialise in marine paints and it was more than half the price of the big name alternatives.

I might be a bit wobbly about using the "Flag" paint on the large square bay window frame due to be renovated and will probably opt for the Dulux equivalent as I will be using Dulux Weathershield undercoat and gloss for that job and it might be better to keep that job all to the same system of paint.

However, for priming the plywood to be used for my tower staging, the "Flag" aluminium primer seems to be a cheap option.
