Dad-in-law has b & q Silver Star combi LS100T - ch works perfect until turns on taps and water is warm for 30 secs & cuts out - pressure drops in system but water pressure 1.2, so any ideas? :? [/list]

If you are saying that the flow rate at the tap drops, then the symptons you describe are that of a scaled plate heat exchanger, assuming this boiler has one(I've not come across it before). Or worst case scenario its a scaled dual pass main heat exchanger.

Thanks, could very well be in this heavy limescal area - hubby took out an overflow pipe that was totally scaled up - sent it to the Uni for their course!

reckon its the Ravenheat boiler, plate exchanger, worth trying to clean before replace.

sounds like its the little star ravenheat boiler LS100T and it does have a plate heat exchanger , but if you are in a bad area for limescale i would have a look at the filter in the giannani diverter valve its on the d h w output from the valve into the plate heat exch,m i bet its blocked up just isolate the water in and undo the half inch nut to the valve and pull the pipe away a small amount the filter will drop out clean and re fitIf the plate heat exch is blocked a good tip is if you have a Wilkinson store in your area get some decking /patio cleaner and soak it for 20mins it will clean it out that tip was direct from ravenheat top man on a course i attended a couple of weeks ago
