Problem with Drayton digistat or valve?

I'm having an intermittent problem with my central heating not coming on when it should. I have a Drayton digistat RF2 and SCR. Both appear to be working as they should in that the thermostat is sending its signal and the SCR is receiving it. I get a green light on the SCR when heating is needed. But the heating doesn't always come on with the green light. It's pretty random and is getting worse.

I'm thinking there is either a problem with the reciever and although the green light is on it's not actually switching the valve or there is a problem with the valve. I have a Drayton MA1 mid-position actuator. What should I do?

Thanks

It's a pretty good bet that the receiver is knackered.

Test the output with a meter when the green light is on.

Drayton are not among the better RF stats.
