Problem with Honeywell wireless room thermostat

Is the hot water set to come on at the same time as the heating? Looking for faults with the room stat could be a red herring. If the system is wired incorrectly it's possible that the heating won't work when the hot water is turned off at the programmer.

Mike

In the morning the heating and hot water are set to come on together.

Think its got to be a case of going round there early in morning . seeing if the led on the stat is calling and whether it is communicating with the base unit .
That will give you a far better idea what is happening very strange if its only doing it at that time of day and not throughout its on period

It does come on, but at least an hour late e.g. if set to come on a 6am, it will only come on around 7:15am. If you are there when it is meant to come on if you nudge the dial, the red led will light and the boiler will come on.

Confirms it then its the stat that is faulty not the base station/wiring or anything else.
Only way of proving it is to have them there and have an accurate digital thermometer showing temp is well below what room stat is set at and as you say nudge it when it comes on it means stat is the fault

This is the second room stat my Dad has had fitted though (both the same model and both causing the same problem), could they both be faulty?

If the time clock is demanding CH. It cant be anything else . led indicates a call for heat from the stat so if its say 15 degrees in the room and the stat is set to twenty and no led untill slightly touched then its something in the stat.

If the stat was ok and fault was elsewhere then the led would be on and it would be a case of checking that it is communicating with the base unit which is the sending power to the motorised valve which is the sending power to the boiler.
