I have recently had a Moretti mixer tap fitted. When I turn either of the taps off the water stops, there is a delay of a couple of seconds and then a small amount of water runs out of the tap and then it stops. Does anyone know what is causing this and how it can be fixed?

Thanks for your reply seco services. Does that mean the tap I bought was faulty to begin with or is it just a bad design??

It is the nature of many taps. When the tap is open, water displaces the air out of the spout. When you close the tap, the flow stops, leaving some water in the spout 'hanging there' against a partial vacuum at the valve. Eventually a bubble of air breaks through the surface tension of the water and runs back up the spout, breaking the vacuum and allowing the water to run out of the spout.
