I had a new Vaillant EcoTecPro installed by a registered Corgi fitter in August. System is gas. As of yesterday it has stopped working completely - no heating; no hot water. The LCD shows: F.75 instead of the temperature. The pressure gauge is high (it points to the red bit on the right-hand side).

I am in warranty and have called Vaillant. They say it is not a manufacturing defect and I just need to bleed the radiator. Does that sound right? Can I bleed it when the radiators are cold? When I have bled it how do i re-pressurize?

Thank you!

Thank you for that - it helps with my 'how to re-pressurize' question.

It doesn't answer my first question though. Everything i read about the need to bleed suggests this is necessary when the radiators don't work properly whereas my problem seems to be that the boiler has stopped working because the pressure is too high.
