I'm sorted with a gauge for measuring the alignment
but, not certain on the procedure for adjusting.

can see I need spanners etc., but how do I go about it?

many thanks

Slacken the locknut thats at the end of the track rod end....I put a splash of paint on one of the flats, and count how many flats its undone - just in case!
Adjustment takes place when the track rod itself is turned with molegrips, if there isn't a spanner flat on it. Don't worry, it cant undo from inside the steering rack.
Secure the steering wheel in the straight ahead position before you start!
There is a special clamp for this but often its not needed.
John :)
