Hi All,
I have recently moved to my newly bought house and I have POTTERTON profile 80 boiler with honeywell control. Its central heating and water heating was working until today evening when I tried to remove the blocked air from the radiators. I being novice in this domain, I turned off all the radiators values for the whole house and started turning on and off each radiator one by on and removed the blocked air. To be frank I do not know the flow of heating radiators. When I reached third radiator surprisingly the boiler stopped working and it never ignite again. I suspect my turning off all the radiators values perhaps put extra pressure on the pump/boiler and perhaps it stopped working? or it caused more blocked air?
Its still serving hot water but perhaps its coming from already stored hot water.
Could you please suggest me what could be the reason of it suddenly stopping?

Thanks in advance.

Look underneath the boiler and you will see a hole through the underside of drawer , push your finger in the hole and reset the switch.

Thanks a ton gaswizzard......You saved my £50 atleast.....
Any idea what went wrong? was it because of radiators valve tuning it was doing? Is there any guide for tuning for left and right radiator valve?

Thanks again.

You had stopped the flow and caused the boiler to overheat.

Bleeding should only be done where there is a problem!

Tony

Thanks Tony,
You are right.

Few of my rooms takes ages to heat up. The whole radiator does heat up but its doesnt get too hot. So I thought I would check if air is trapped.

Also I have got all my lock shield valves and manual valves open. In bath again, both the manual values fully open. Could you please suggest if it's ok to leave like that or I need to do balancing? I don't really have the thermometer to check the temperature.

Thanks.
