Profile boiler fault

My Profile 80e only fires up reliably with the plastic cover off. Why is this?

How did it act before

It was sometimes cutting out after about 20 minutes of burning well.

So, it was not firing up and cutting out then firing again etc

It would sometimes fire again, but maybe once or twice. Then it would not do it again an was providing no heating or water. The plastic cover was removed to inspect it and it then worked fine. And carried on working!

Sounds like a loose connection. You need to arrange for a heating engineer to make tests etc

I did get one guy to look and he said "forget it get a new boiler."

Where does one obtain a plastic cover for a profile?

These boilers are worth keeping if it's a simple fix and that's your only problem you have. I would get anther heating engineer to investigate.

Ahhhhh! The bottom cover, now I understand.
