Hello,
Went to do replace a radiator, and while I was there the customer said his programmer wasn't working.

It's a vented system, with a baxi solo boiler, and potterton programmer and motorised valves. Anyway the programmer fires up the heating and hot water, but when it comes to the end of it's cycle and swithces off, the heating and hot water just keep going.

I noticed that the valve on the heating circuit is on manual, so it would seem that this will need a new head.

My question is, why would the programmer shut down, but the heating not switch off? Could it be a faulty programmer aswell as motorised valve?

Cheers for any replies.

The microswitch in the valve head will be stuck on. It is this that supplys the power to the boiler to fire up, not the programmer.

The programmer and stats just turn the motor in the valves.
