Hi,

Bit of a specific question but does anyone have experience of the best product to use for protecting and sealing western red cedar decking?

I would like to get a clear finish and try retain the natural look for as long as possible but can't seem to find any recommendations on the best product.

Would be interested in any views, suggestions, etc.

Many thanks,

Damian

Western Red Ceder has high anti rot and insect attack properties naturally but you can use Cuprinol Decking seal which is clear and they now do "Stay New" decking treatment which will protect your deck keeping it looking like new for up to 3 years apparently although the latter i havent tried personally so can not vouch for their claim, they also do Decking Protector which comes in a clear finish!
