Hello friendly plumbers. I hope you can advise me on a problem that I have with my shower - no cold water to the shower mixer.
The shower has been unused for a few months due to refurb in the shower room.
I have an unvented hot water system (Ariston) and this has an RWC combo valve.
The cold water feed to the shower comes from the balanced cold water take off from the RWC 3.5bar gizmo.
There is a short piece of 22mm pipe that goes to a gate valve. If I remove the feed to the shower and open the gate valve I get a brief spurt of water and then a trickle and then nothing.
Hot water works just fine so I know that water at pressure is getting to the cold feed into the tank and water pours into the tundish if I tweak the 6 bar expansion relief valve.
At one point today I did get a good pressuse of water, I ran the shower
and thought "great its fixed itself" but the next time i tried it - no cold water again.
I'm sure there's nothing stuck in the pipes and the gate valve is clear when it is opened up.
Any ideas, do these valves fail? Help/suggestions gratefully received.
