pull cord light switch won't click

My bathroom light pull cord switch has suddenly stopped working. When pulling it, it doesn't appear to click properly like it used to do and thus no light.
I have unscrewed it and all appears fine. Do I need to buy a new switch or is there something obvious I'm missing???
