I just installed a 45 amp pull cord switch for my shower. However, although it works correctly the pilot light stays on all the time. Have I wired it incorrectly or something?

You have wired the Pilot light across the LIVE side of the switch.

To only operate when the switch is on, this should be wired across the live and neutral of the output side of the switch.

Remember to turn the circuit power off to do this.

You have connected your supply "MAINS" cables into the "LOAD" side of the switch. Take these out and swap them with the outgoing cables to your shower (as mentioned above, but in easy terms).....
