puma 80 poor ch

i have a puma 80 boiler,plenty hot water . ch takes two hours to heat up properly.how can i test the diverter valve .the valve will probably cost 80 pounds and i don't want to change unecessasarilly .how do you spell that word

It's Potty's own valve.

Make sure you have no dripping hot taps. That would stop the CH working.

You might be looking for the diverter valve: brass thing, runs from back to front just below left of the pump, with a pipe going in from the top and another from the left.

You might find that if you get the front end of it hot (80º-100, say) with perhaps a heat gun, the heating starts to work. This bit would be cooled by running a hot tap. (There's a waxstat in there a bit like a car's thermostat)
