please can someone confirm how a pipe stat(same as cylinder stat) should be wired up to allow a pump to over run.i know but am having a bad day.
i put swl to normally closed &
perm live to normally open but it worked in reverse

neither bryan it is a pipe stat. spdt just like a cylinder stat
cheers

Sounds like you did it right to me! Maybe when you tested it you just turned the stat dial and got mixed up there - I know I've done that..

i think you r right
if i turn the dail down to 30oC the pump should stop ?

ta

No - if you turn the dial down it's like the boiler temperature has gone up, ie above the set point, which you just moved. So the pump would get its power from permanent live.
Wouldn't mind a fiver for every time I've done that, always long enough since the last time that it catches me again!
