Hi
I just had to replace the 3 way valve and the pump.

The valve works fine - heating just the water or ch rads if selected.

I changed this yesterday. However last night was aware that I think that the pump was continually running and also the boiler running.
I don't think this is correct?
Is this controlled by a stat on the tank?

also

I turned off isolation valves above and below the pump to change it and also left (top of tank) and right of the valve(pipe going under floorboards).
There is also another going from the bottom of the tank to in between the pump and valve.

all these I have turned back on. Is this correct?

any help appreciated

The valve off the bottom of the tank sounds like a balancing valve. Try setting this half closed.

Your pump and boiler continuosly running after changing the zone valve sounds as though you have re-wired it incorrectly.

Hi Gas4you
I think I may have got it a bit mixed up, and that I now think it is the pump running all night. the switch was on heating and hot water and the stat was turned down, so rads were cold.

when does the pump run - under what conditions
thanks
