Sorry to be basic
Apart from the noise how do you tell if a pump is running
The small red ones, grundfoss I think , seen in houses etc

I remember seing plumbers taking out the end plug in the past

Is that the best way or will water p out of it

( Honest answers please)

yes

and you can see the end of the shaft spinning

and bleed any air :)

If you look underneath it you will be able to see its legs going like fu$k!!

hi better to turn off the valve each side of the pump then remove the screw try spinning the pump with a small screwdriver
you will not be able to do this on a pressurized system as most combi s do not have valves on and then you would get a pressure release out of the end of the pump
it can be done by de pressurizing if it spins ok to=urn on the power and look at the end of the shaft behind the chrome screw you will prob need a torch

Thanks
yes

Will any water come out though

Sometimes they are combi
But mostly not

I would rather leave them, than use the valves as they are always old buildings and look a bit suss
We check the voltage usually but would be nice to confirm there running

screwdriver on the case with the handle to your ear it will be pretty obvious if its spinning or not

Just because the spindle is turning it doesn't mean that the impeller is still attached.

And if the impeller is attached it doesn't mean that it isn't worn to buggery.

And if it isn't worn it doesn't mean that the ports aren't blocked up with rust and Magnatite.
_________

Edit: Er, I meant Magnetite.
