Push button toilets on loft tank?

Modern toilets are supplied set for mains water pressure, thats normally 1 Bar plus. They dont usually have any low pressure supply option.

I am considering using harvested rainwater in a loft tank for flushing the toilets.

Has anyone any experience of how these react with supply pressures of say 0.3 Bar and 0.5 Bar ?

it should work just slower rate agile
but rember you can not have the feed going to toilet going elsewhere

Low pressure ball valve changover, simples, just like a bungalow, tank in roof bog next floor down. Just a tad slower than Niagra falls.

Most toilets work 'ok' on low pressure, they just take a little longer to fill.

Just make sure if they have a restrictor, to remove it.

Also having the tank as far up as possible.

No balls in modern toilets!

They use silly looking bits. Worse mine downstairs closes suddenly with a thump as if mains pressure is involved in closing it.

ADL, what do you mean the supply cannot go anywhere else? Currently the mains goes everywhere?

The only time a supply pipe can't go anywhere else is a bidet with hose/spray

true but your not allowed to let rain water come in contact with the kitchen water so it toilet needs to be on seprate supply from the kitchen water or you will be risking comtanation of supply
