Bathroom plumbed in 15 years ago, plastic push fit, no problems. Combi boiler fitted about a month ago. I’m in the bath, hear splashing and lots of water. Plastic push fit has blown off the basin tap connector - anything to do with the new Combi boiler? (I think I remember being told my supply is straight from the mains but I wouldn’t swear to that, I’m not a plumber and it was a long time ago)

If the new combi is operating at a higher system pressure I guess that would not help matters.

The HW supply is isolated from the boiler (primary circuit) via a heat exchanger and as such the pressures will differ. IMO it was just a coincidence that the push-fit fitting (spit!) decided to let go. Give me capillary or compression any time(y)

Guessing Old system gravity tank fed low pressure hot water, Combi goes in and all hot water is then whatever the cold mains pressure is, hot water flow rate will be dependent on KW of combi and mains pressure coming in, but pressure both the same, any dodgy HW fittings or pipes that held ok on low pressure, won't handle mains pressure.
