push fit plumbing or not

I'm also a fan of push-fit fittings but I think you'd be better off using taps on your sink.

ho ho ho !!

pushfit are ok more more expensive. so as someone who fits a few i dont use them......but as a one off, why not

if they leak in years to come...u'll find out !

Plenty of solder fittings leak in years to come, that is where they pull apart after years of floor walking. Cap[liliaqry joints made by a builder not a plumber are time bombs, I frequently go to joints that were only pushed in a few mill.

No reason to suspect any better or worse performance from pushfit joints, as long as they are dry when you've first fitted them, the pipe is unblemished, the joint is brand new, copper pipe is cut with a rounded external edge not flat, plastic cut with correct tool, pushed fully together, can take some forearm strength which we have developed on the job you might lack.

I have reservations about pushfits but I'm happy with them under sinks. You can get at them, things get changed a lot, it usually means the pipe isn't taking any strain.
It does mean you have to get your earth bonding onto the sink/tap directly though.

How do you cut copper pipe to a rounded external edge not square? Is that the same as it being chamfered?
