Putting new flexi pipe in existing clay soil pipe

Hi

I am attempting to put a toilet into my toilet downstairs. The soil pipe in the ground is clay.

i have bought a flexi pan connector. In regards to fitting do i need any additional seals or plumbers mait to put around the rubber seal or is it as simple as putting fairy around the rubber and putting it in.

It should just go in. Personally I would try with out the fairy to start with as flexis tend to move around a bit and the fairy could help it pop out.
